I thought your car looked familiar.

Here is my old 98 GS400, lowered with tanabe spring, 2 inches (my first car that I had when I was 16, thats why it looks pretty tore up)

And heres the LS, now with 245/35/19's! Stock susp

hey mistas808, i have a question for ya. i was gonna get my car painted today. i wanted to get rid of the two tone and make my car all silver. but my the painter(my boss) wanred me that if i take off those mouldings on the door, the clips on them will break off and i will have to buy new mouldings and they are going for 2,200 dollars from the dealership (whole sale price). is that true? did youre mouldings break when you took them off? or will i be able to take them off w/o breaking anything so that i can get them painted?

puredrifter, do u kno anything about this? will the clips really break off the moulding if i take them off to get them painted? because i called the lexus dealership and im looking at (roughly) $2,400 for all four mouldings. reason being is that they come painted already. thats y they r so expencive. sux that i dont really care about them being painted cause im gonna paint them a diff color anyway :-/

the bottom plastic panels are held on by a strip of bent metal (should be reusable if ur shop is 1/2 competent) and PRIMARILY by double sided Body adhesive.

so you can reuse them...

oh, your supposed to set the side of the car in front of a heat lamp with it aimed at the lower pieces, then u can wait a while and it softens the factory adhesive. at least thats what my repair manual said

Good lord lp! I see why you took the pics in front of a church. Nice look. I'm sure the spacers had something to do with it too.

Maybe I am ignorant or maybe I am just plain stupid... but you keep sayin "dead stock struts"... now, is that brand or are you saying they are "dead, stock struts"? haha...

I have 19's as well... and am planning on lowering with tanabes 1.8 fronts 1.5 rears... you think I'd be ok with the stocks struts and shocks?

Well if you struts blow and you ride on them like that... your alignment will be messed up, handling, extra load on bushings and brakes, uneven tire wear and... should I go on. Do it the right way, so you don't have to pay for labor twice and new bushings, alignments, and tires.
