My New Interior (large pics)
Well guys, it took me a long time, but its finally here. Pictures of my new interior setup. Its not perfect yet, and i'm not done, but I thought I'd share some pictures. I'm planning on redoing the drivers seat as well as the passenger seat.
The entire process has literally taken me 50-60 hours. I spent a lot of time repadding the seats, and trying different ways to get a perfect fit. In the end.. you have to learn to live with "good enough". I think my results were really good..and if you sit in the car, you will be more amazed, becuase by the time I was finished, I perfected the amount of foam to add to the seat to find the perfect balance between softness, plushness, and support.
I'll post some pictures below to give you an idea of the repadding process.. but first, here are some decent pictures of the interior. I still need to finish the headrests as well as the center armrest in the front.
Some problems I ran into.. I accidentally put two holes in my leather for a headrest where I should not have. Never work on the car at 5 am. Its just always a bad idea. You take shortcuts and make mistakes. I'm trying to find a leather repair place that can fix that mistake for me..
The colors I used are dark graphite and smoke grey. The graphite doesn't look quite as dark in person as it does in these pictures. The leather looks a lot more vibrant that this camera is capturing.
I also bought new mats from Sewell Lexus and the Exactmats carpet protectors.. they are these rubber pieces that sit ontop of the carpets and have the little spikes to stay in place...
As you can see I broke my reclining switch. I actually broke the rubber/plastic piece that is the switch (not the button that sits ontop of it).. So what I ended up doing was drilling a hole in the rubber part, drilling a hole in the actual part of the seat it attaches to, and then using a double sided screw type of thing to attach it. It works, but its ghetto. and the button keeps falling off as seen in this picture.

I think I may replace the door panel leather that is already there with smoke leather to match the inside part of the seats.. Haven't decided yet.

Damnit man, you're real close to pushingm e to buy new Katzkins for my LS!!! Those look REAL CLEAN! That's a damn good install! I can't go without my car for a few days though, because I'm in the military and I HAVE to be places, and I only have 1 car. My wife is **** with her 04 Altima! I think I'll do this install but try to do it over the weekend at most...you think it's possible? I'm not re-stuffing the foam, just changing the skins....

Great job, looks sweet. That back seat looks really plush and comfortable. Redoing the seats is a major job but it's well worth it when you get results like this. I replaced the seat covers on an old Corvette years ago and it really made the interior look so much better. Makes an old car look and smell new again.
Definitely do the door panels to match.

I thought this thread would be some gucci or LV leathered up interior .
I am glad to see it is a damn classy looking match and with straight stitching. Now go do the armrest shifter and wheel to finish it up.
Excellent work.
