Hi , on the maintainence board I had responed to this question about a timing belt.?

I thought / heard the 4.0 L V8 was a NON-INTERFERENCE
and that when the Timing-belt snapped , just bring it in and
replace it , no problems.
Can anyone confirm this?

I read one Ladman's old board that this was true ?
Anyone know for sure>
I heard the 3.0 L V6 is a INTERFERENCE engine and that that would be a BIG problem.

When I had my timing belt job done,my Lexus mechanic said even if the timing belt has snapped the pistons would not be harmed. He showed me a diagram about it.
He said that about the 4.0L V-8,but dunno about the smaller Lexus enignes.
