When I have my air conditioner on my car runs fine, except when I put it in park, it sometimes dies. When I turn my air conditioner off the car dies and won't idle. It drives fine but when you stop at a red light or something, or put in park, it dies. What to do, do I just drive with my air conditioner on forever------HELP!!!
Sounds like you're having a problem with your TPS sensor. Have you had the car serviced recently?
This adjustable sensor moves to adjust idle speed, it maybe your problem (if a mechanic has messed with it), and it may not be. It could be something else causing your RPM's to drop like a vacum leak. If all fails, maybe proper adjustment to this sensor can help you raise your idle speed.
It idles about 700RPMs. I'll have to have that sensor looked at. Does it matter who works on it, can I have a mechanic at my work do it,or do you guys recomend a lexus mechanic??? Other than that I love the car, I can't say it's the best car I've ever owned because I've only had 2 cars previous. I had a 95 Avalon and an 89 Corolla. I love toyotas, this lexus is the nicest I've ever owned!!! I'm spoiled with Lexus, I couldn't downgrade to another Avalon!!!
