1st gen directional wheels- why?
Hi all,
my 92's wheels are starting to pit and i'm looking to fix them up-- no! no tire/wheel upgrades!
either refinish existing or i've found some chrome lexus, but they have 3 rights and 1 left.
i know these are 'directional', but i don't know if it's functional for the brakes or just aesthetic? do you happen to know or know someone who does know?
thinking.. even if they are for cooling, if i put the 'backward' one in the back, where brakes aren't used near as much, do you think this would be ok?
lastly, again thinking they are for looks, many people here and other places put aftermarket wheels on all the time, apparently to no detriment, right?
any thoughts are appreciated...

Hello,
they are made to cool the brakes down. Especially the 1st gen brakes are way to small and tent to fade. Most afermarket wheels have larger openings than the stock wheels or are even larger in size. That really helps to let the hot air out and cool air in. It probably would not make a big difference for you in the US since you have a speedlimit and probably don't take the LS on the racetrack.
