Don't know the cost for HIDs, but I think they are rather expensive (if you can get them for a 95-97). A much cheaper alternative would be Sylvania SIlverstars at <$40 (per pair at Autozone) for low beam and <$40 (per pair) for high beam. Big difference from OEM bulbs. I put them on my GS400 and am very pleased. I put just the low beams on my son's `96 Toyota Land Cruiser (130k miles) and that's what I'll do this Spring on my `96 LS400.
