Default !! (on a long trip, missing, and Check Engine light)

I left Dallas with my '96 LS400 running perfectly. I stop in MS and fillup and immediately have missing, and Check Engine light. I stop, reset the light and it keeps hapening. Next morning, I fillup and no problems for 400 miles--no Check Engine---NADA! This morning, get up and car misses all the way to work.. I tunedup up about 12,000 miles ago--OEM wires, plugs, etc. I think the injectors are clogged--any advice on injector cleaner or do I visit your favorite mechanic in Fort Myers? I checked the sparkplug connections tonight and NADA!
Thanks,
Howard Penn

hope you didn't fill up while the fuel truck was filling the tanks! anyway...if you don't want to pay to have your injectors cleaned, cheveron techron fuel additive is really a good one. it should clean up your injectors and decarbonize your combution chamber. i use it about every 10000 miles personally. you may want to change your fuel filter again also. the last bit of fuel in the tank may take a while to burn through. hope bad fuel really is your prob. did you scan to make sure it had multiple misfires and not a specific cylinder misfire? might have a different problem. hope this helps. anyone have any other thoughts or advise?

Default Thanks, Puredrifter

Thanks for the tip on using the Lucas fuel injector cleaner--my car seems to be running perfectly now, although we all know how that goes! I looked at about 10 service stations on the way home from work last night and all they had was STP. I looked in the phone book and found an Advanced Auto Parts store here in Fort Myers and they had the best selection I have ever seen. I bought the big 32 oz bottle, put about 6 ozs in about 10 gallons of gas and it started rough this morning and about half way to work I had to check the tach to be sure the engine was running! Smooth as silk. Thanks, again and have a super 2006!
