go to barns and noble and buy abook called the lexus story.its 50 bucks and has a crome emblime on the front cover(a real one)pull it off and i herd from grand_ls that it is s perfect fit on our sterring wheels.but if you dont want to wait to buy one over the net.thats what i would do and you get a real nice book with every thing you every want to know about lexus and all there modles.i have read there hole book inside and out and it is really good.packed with pics.

You are exactly correct. However, if I’m not mistaken, I've seen a blown LS airbag online somewhere, and it splits from those lines, and when it meets in the middle where the emblem is, it goes from under the emblem, and not through the center of it. However, don’t quote me on it, because I could not find that picture, nor can I guarantee that how it will go off everytime.

I knew the LX had the same airbag, and I wasn't even paying attention to where the emblem was on the airbag of the LX. I haven't paid much attention to my steering wheel for the most part, so I looked at the LX470, and knew it was compatible with the LS400 and assumed it was the same untlil I examined the difference.

It is not compatible with your LS airbag otherwise you would be able to swap the airbags out.

And for one that looks like the 2005 LX, I was meaning the 1998-2002
This is a 2002 LX470
So if the steering wheels are the same, then doesn't the airbag also have to be the same or similar?? I actually know a guy who bought the LX470 wooden steering wheel and put it on his LS. He put his original airbag on it and it fits just fine.
EDIT--Make that a 99 LS
