I agree with you Drod2045. Maybe you could have replied to 1sicklex's post a little less sarcastic, but by reading some posts occasionally, some people seem biased at times and think Lexus is the almighty of car companies. Don't get me wrong, I love Lexus, but sometimes people's biases gives them a condescending attitude.

Do keep in mind this is a Lexus website of Lexus owners, the bias is to be expected.

Has nothing to do with being "10 year old like", has to do with giving other members of this site the respect they deserve.

Doesnt matter what car owners are at this site, its stupid to think Lexus is the only company out there. That is 10 year old like in itself. Maybe Lexus members here (not all of course) should respect other vehicles and then Ill respect them.

I just realized an error Drod, you said in a "less 10 year old way" and I thought you had said "in a more 10 year old way" for some reason. I certainly apologize for the error.

Now aside, a message for everyone:

As moderator of this forum I expect each member be treated with respect, disrespectful postings will be removed and members who incite problems in a recurring manner will be removed. We're all adults here, no reason for disrespect or belittling. In order to keep this such a nice place to discuss our vehicles as it is, we need to do that. Thanks everyone.

Both interiors are nice, but i agree the Q does look more stylish than the LS400.Both are great cars and i really dig the Q's reverse screen when you are driving backwards.

I would pick the Q if infiniti's were bulit as good as lexus cars.

The Q is built very well, but I dont think anything is built as well as a Lexus.

Yeah the main concern for me would be longevity.

You are 100% right. The LS430 is already faster (look at the MT article and the Infiniti BS line about the production cars being faster is just that, BS) and Infiniti only sold 541 Q45's in June, 1/5 of LS430 sales. People in the market know which is the better car and are buying more of them. There's a reason the LS430 won the MT comparison.

I really considered the new Q to the LS430, since it offered all the amenities the LS did, but at a cheaper price with a more sporting flair. The interior is without a doubt fantastic! Very intimate and a great place to cruise and drive all day long. Unfortunately...tHe hideous front end about pukes me all over. It looks like someone's afterthough at the 23rd hour in the design process. The gatling guns are a nice touch, but are too large and evokes more of a defensive position then offensive. Also, the cache of the Infiniti name as compared with a Lexus has no comparison!! WIll Lexus respond? Lexus does not need to respond! See this article below:

Lexus Reports Best-Ever June Sales; Luxury Brand Ahead 17.1 Percent in First Half of 2001

July 3, 2001 -- Torrance, CA -- Posting its 13th consecutive best-ever month, Lexus today reported June sales of 19,117 passenger cars and sport utility vehicles (SUV). For the first half of 2001, Lexus is ahead of last year’s pace by 17.1 percent with 109,742 units sold.

Passenger cars continued to be at the top of consumers’ shopping lists with June Lexus car sales of 11,690 units, up 42.3 percent from June 2000. The LS 430 premium luxury sedan remained at the top of its segment with sales of 2,724, up 213.1 percent, while the SC 430 hardtop convertible continued its hot sales pace with 1,335 units sold. Sales of the ES 300 entry-luxury sedan were up 7.2 percent from last year with sales of 3,445. The GS 300 high performance luxury sedan posted sales of 1,986, an increase of 12.9 percent from last June, while the GS 430 finished the month with sales of 366, down 21.0 percent. The IS 300 sport sedan sales stayed nearly even with sales of 1,833, down a slight 1.1 percent from a year ago.

Year-to-date passenger car sales of 67,439 were up 60.9 percent from the same period last year.

The RX 300 mid-sized luxury SUV posted June sales of 6,666, down 3.0 percent, while the LX 470 premium luxury sedan had sales of 761, down 32.1 percent from last June.

"The first half of 2001 has been good to Lexus as we experience steady growth in a slowing economy," says Denny Clements, Lexus group vice president and general manager. "Our emphasis for the remainder of the year will be to make sure our dealers have the tools and ability to give our customers the high level of service they deserve and have come to expect."

In addition to outstanding new vehicle sales, Lexus also had a record-setting pre-owned month with best-ever June sales of 5,372, up 40.8 percent from last year. Of those sales, 3,100 were Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, which represents a 42.1 percent increase from last year and an all-time best-ever record. Year-to-date total pre-owned sales of 28,183 were up 19.8 percent.

Actually the Q45 won, but it was said like this "we'd take a Q45 now, but could easily see ourselves happy in an LS430 in a few years".

Typical Motor Twit crap.

I take it that you don't like Motor Trend Stephen.

I like the Q but the overall performance is disappointing for 340 HP.
I expected the Q to hand the LS430 its a$$ with that type of HP but instead it lost.
I should of know better.
Overall the new Q is a good new start for the Infinity line but are not in the Lexus or MB category yet if ever.
I put them with the Acura line.

it was actually Road and Track that picked the Q over the LS, not MT. And the S won the MT compariosn but about the 0-60 time. The Q tested was a pre production model. Infiniti said that the 5.9 second claim is true and that they stand behind it. A person from Freshalloy.com CLAIMED to testing the Q and in fact did get 5.9 seconds (he said he even got 5.8) but I still want to see it from the mags. Fact is that we have to wait for a production Q to be tested. Although I did say that nothing is built like a Lexus doesnt mean that the Q is not reliable. Infiniti is 3rd in reliablility rankings so they are too built very solidly. The G20 is the most reliable vehicle EVER according to reports of Consumer........ Reports. (I guess thats why they call it COnsumer Reports)

The G20 might be reliable but is weak and shouldn't even be in the Infinity lineup.
That car can't even beat the Sentra and they both have the same engine!
