As somebody already pointed out, it's just a Toyota crown. It won't be the next LS for sure. My own personal speculation is that the next LS will follow the new L-Finesse direction & will likely look like a bigger version of the the new IS350.

Did anyone read what the people were talking about on auto week? What do you think, is the LS really copying the Mercedes S class? To me I think that Lexus has its own style. Argh that just really gets me frustrated when people start dis'n Lexus and insulting them . Look Mercedes is alright, but what you pay for a base model S500, you could get a fully loaded LS430 for about that or less. Not only that, but I think that Mercedes is just crap. We've had two Mercedes a CLK 55 and a C240, both which had to go into the shop about every 5 months because of something . Oh well i'm happy cuz we now have an RX330 and a GS430

i appologize if i went off topic.

No problem. Tools with no clue automatically say "Lexus copies Benz" blah blah blah etc. Well every car maker takes cues from someone, now Benzs, look like Japanese cars. That is the only argument they make and its old and now baseless.

L-finesse design is going to give the LS style in the Lexus fashion. It will come in 2 wheelbase versions. It will offer AWD, hybrid and possibly multiple engines.

Surely the new LS will have some of the style it has now, but you can't be sure. I think the 2005 LS430 looks better than the Toyota Crown, by far!

to be fair, every car copied the others, all copied the 4 wheels at least...but they still can't copy the quality of a lexus....lexus quality is no. 1....

in my opinion, bmx, mercier b, jerker, saad etc are still in the infancy of car production technology....they couldn't produce a reliable product that don't require a lot of repairing

who need to copy, now?

......1998-2000 LS. Its the best ever made, period!!!! .....TRUST ME ON THIS ONE (I've test driven a 2001 LS430 Ultra, a 2002 LS base, a 2005LS Ultra and a2005LS sports package) .....the Nakamichi is FAR FAR FAR FAR superior to the Mark Levinson. ....as you can probably tell, I'm not upgrading anytime soon

Of all the LS the 98-00 looks the most like an older Benz IMO. I don't think that is an insult to the car, MB makes nice cars also. I love the look of the 05 LS. It is a good combination of Straight lines and curves, giving the car an edgey look, with out taking away from its classic style.

I will agree with you on that one, I love my 98, but I really like the looks of the 2005s.

Some people like the 98-00' models a whole lot better than the 2001-2005. But I can gaurantee that if they were to get their hands on one of the newer models it would be a totally different story. I love my '95 but if I were in the position to get an '04-'05 model I would get it without a doubt....

I'd love to have one of the new ones, but I wouldn't want to get rid of this one.

I drove behind a toyota crown today on the 5 north in So. Cali.

It was a RHD. With Michigan Plates and "Manufacture Plate" under the numbers.

I first thought it was a new LS being tested with toyota badge. But came across this thread so guess it wasnt a new LS.

I wonder what they are testing with these Crowns anyway. These have been running in Japan for a while now.
