Unhappy

Houston is still pumping out from under Tropical Storm Allison. Rainfall totals for Friday night alone average 20 inches of water with one area getting 30 INCHES of water. Biblical Flood. Thousands of cars were under water with areas deep enough that entire tractor trailer semi's were under water. Beware of cheap cars that have flood damage as it take an amazing amount of work to restore a car that has been submerged.

Unhappy flood cars

We have 37 flood cars at our dealership and that was before Friday/Saturday 30" inches of rain. We have carpet hanging in every place possible and have had to go and purchase more engine stands. I can only imagine what it will be like tommorrow. I believe the majority that come in tommorrow will be totalled. Just way to much rain.

Flood sucked!
I was sleeping on 59 Friday/Saturday morning!
Had to drive south bound on north bound 59 to go home!
It was kinda cool and the cops didn't care (pass by 3 of them blocking off 59).
I hope know one from this forum got flooded.

I did see this one stupid Lexus owner though.
He was driving a brand new LS430 that still had the paper plates and ran right into the flood like he was in a jacked up truck!
Well he got flooded out in like 2 seconds!
Stupid Lexus driver, so sad to see the car go out like that.

Lou, that guy will probably complain to Lexus
Obviously he (or she?) was too stupid to remain a Lexus owner. The car gods have spoken...

Lextek, what happens to the totalled out cars? Insurance buy them? If then what? I have heard that more than a few flood damaged cars end up back in showrooms of less scrupulous dealers and individuals. May be a good time to obtain an engine or even a salvaged car to build for HI-PO use.
