Default Wiper Blade

A very simple question - how do you remove the rubber wiper blade (not the entire assembly) for replacement? I have a 98 LS400,

thanks

The arm has two metal prongs that index the rubber insert at the end of the wiper holder. Use some pliers or needle nose pliers to compress the rubber at that point and push it free of the index holes. I forget which direction but it only goes one way.

Are you looking to just purchase & replace the "wiper refills"? This is the actual rubber that touches the windshield. If so use Mike's advice.

Now, If you're looking to replace the actual "wiper" (this is the refill with the rod that the refill slides into -this is not the arm that attachers to the body/cowl) then you have to pop up a plastic tab/prong in the middle of the wiper and then it should just pop off.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the replies. I will try it - I just have the rubber blades to replace, not the metal strips or the assembly.
