Default 91 and 94 LS400 body parts

Does anybody know if the 1991 and 1994 LS400 have interchangeable bumpers. More specifically, will the front and rear bumpers off of a 1994 fit on a 1991? Will the side skirt things (i don't think these are considered side skirts) fit too? Thanks in advance.

I don't see why there would be any problems fitting the front and rear bumpers...it should definitely be do-able. However, if you're trying to get the the lower side moldings from a '94 onto a '91, you're going to have to replace the the whole lower side panels along with it....the side skirt things you're talking about aren't a separate piece you can just take off and put onto a '91 (at least that's what I've heard).

I really want to get to the bottom of this. I think the bottom "side-skirts" will fit/bolt on but I think the door caps will not work. The 1990 has like black rubber molding that hangs down like a door sweeper, this i think would be the problem. If anyone has more info on this please let me know. I think I may be going to some junk yards and getting some hands on feel for these pieces.

i personally dont see the big point in getting anything from later years...for the amount you'd spend on paint you can get an aftermarket kit for the sides/bumper...

true, but I think the after market kits look to bulky for me. I really think the body on the 1994 with the skirts just looks clean as is. I can always fall back on after market side skirts but I personally like the look I am going for and sometimes that is the most important thing. Oh, and paint is not a big expanse for me, it is done at my shop...

use memoryfab.com as a guide (or a copy of hyper-rev) to get an idea for the kits available...there are some VERY nice mild kits available that arent publicized a lot.

I feel you drift, I have visited this site already it's on my favorites. Discovered it a long time ago through researching old post. Believe it or not, I just like the smooth and simple trim that the 1994 side skirts provides. I just like what I like, but it's nice to know there are a lot of options out there. Thanks

Does anyone really know how hard it would be to install the side-skirts from a 93-94 on a 1990? I can't imagine it would be very hard. Anyone out there do this mod? or had to replace there skirts and see how they are installed??? I mean its practically the same car body wise and a lot of parts are interchangeable.

I've taken a front park light (clear light next to headlight) from a 92 and put it on my 94 and believe it or not it does not fit perfectly. The original 94 light seems to be a tiny bit longer (like half cm) and has a slightly different shape so the spacing between the edges of the light is a bit uneven.

In light of that, who knows how a larger component like the bumper would turn out. It might go on but fit and finish could turn out to be less than correct. My light definitely was.

I'm pretty sure that that is one of the parts that they changed in the 93 model year to give the car a wider more agressive look.

If you look at lexls.com comparisons of the bodies you can see that the ones on the gen1-1 is quite smaller that the panel on the gen 1-2.

I think the part is just smaller. Simply a different part.

well there is no "Part" on the 1990. It's just black from the door caps down. I had the black part of the car painted white to match everything so it sorta looks like I have trim down there compared to all the other 90's with just black lowers. Since there is nothing there I think I can just bolt a side-skirt from the 93-94 right on it.

If you get both sides it'd probably work great.
