Default LS 400 sounds loud

I have a recently 91 LS 400 90,000 miles with all dealer maintaince done sinse day one. I purchased from the original ower. It is in perfect condition inside and out, in fact since 2000 he had only put on 4,000 miles. I have had it for 3 months now and the ride and performance have been fantasic with one exception, it sounds a bit loud. Maybe better said it rumbles or bellowey when idleing. I've always heard that these cars are extremely quiet or am I incorrect in this? Any thoughts and opinions greatly apprieated

Stopped on a quiet street, I can hear mine rumble faintly. Sometimes I think...hey someone with a V-8 is pulling up but there isn't anyone else.

Thanks for the replys guys. I must admit I may be a little picky because when I hear this most is when I pull into the garage and there is no other sound. I'll just take it to the shop and have them check the mufflers, pipes and cats. It's not a horrible sound somewhere between a hot ready to rock V8 rumble and a really crappy big old caddy that has seen better days.

Toddt, will you let me know what you find out? I've got a 95 ls w/ 88k and I'm noticing the exact same thing, like a V8 growl that seems to be getting louder. Nothing major, and it's actually kind of cool, but I don't want to damage the car. Mine is nice, but it's not as quiet as so many people say these cars are. Thanks amigo.

also, have you had your motor mounts changed at all? I'm thinking maybe some of the noise on mine might be coming thru worn mounts. My tranny mount is definetly in need of replacement for a vibration.
