92 LS400 Clear tail instructions
I would like to convert my rear turns from yellow to clear without purchasing new housing like the JDM. Is there a procedure or instructions for doing this on a 92 LS400? Is it even possible? Thanks in advance for your help. I thought I had seen a procedure somewhere, but I cannot seem to locate it. Maybe some advance members have some knowledge.

I guess you can try it the way some of the SC owners have cleared their tails. It involves putting the tail light assemblies in the oven and baking them for a few minutes until the glue that holds them together melts...then you remove the lens from the assembly, and remove the amber lens and seal back the lens to the assembly.
You should do a search in the SC forums, there should be a couple threads with plenty of detail on how to go about with this procedure. I'm not 100% sure if it could work for LS400 tails, but it's worth the try if that's the look you're goin' for.
IMHO, I would just dish out the $140-170 for red/clear/red tails, or get the ones with the amber cleared out from Japan (if I really wanted them).

How about a web site link to a JDM producer for clear tail lights or a importer? I'm looking for LS430 ones and figure if they have LS400 they just might have LS430s. Thanks.

You could also send out your tail lights to Hilltop , and they should be able to clear them out for you. From looking in my catalogs, it seems like they could also clear out just the amber part as well...I'm guessing it is possible to do that, or they replace that whole piece out.

Thanks for your reply Earl. I took out the tail light, and was about to dismantle it when I saw that the entire lense is yellow. Therefore I abandoned the project. I wish I had read your post 1 day earlier.

Nope, not possible. Take a really close look at your tails and you'll see that there is no amber plate that can be removed; the amber is the outer section itself. If you want clear tails you'll have to buy them .
