Default 1998 ls400 or celsior taillight difference?

recently i melted my tail lights on my 1998 ls400 (dont ask how) and i'm looking for a new set to replace it with. i was wondering if there was a difference between the us-spec ls400 taillights and the jdm toyota celsior taillights? also anyone know of a place that carries the celsior tails? thanks!

They look the same. But I believe in some countries they have rear foglights, not sure where though.

I know you don't want me to ask, but HOW did you melt your tails, so we learn from the mistake.
My guess is you had them in the oven trying to make them into clears, is that right?

haha no, i was trying to use the heat gun to melt the glue under my ls400 badges (previous owner was a dummie and used some sort of thick super glue to paste his badges) and i didnt realize how hot my heat gun was and splat.

Ouch...

The previous owner put the badges on the tail lights or you were heating up the metal on the trunk lid to remove them?

How much damage is there to the lights? If it isn't too bad, you can hand sand them up to about 2000 grit and buff it out.

the previous owner glued it to the trunk, so the damage is to the top of the lights but its pretty deep. i was pretty tired when i was working on it so i didnt notice it until it was too late. heh. i tried to sand it out but it dips down too low and i cant sand or buff it out. so i'm jsut gona look into replacing that center piece. Does anyone out there have the rear taillight that is positioned around the trunk key? I can get a new piece from Lexus for about 100.00 plus shipping..
