Default fuel gauge and tach not working

My 1990 LS 400 tach stopped working a year ago. The fuel gauge went several months ago. The tach needle will register some movement (very slight) when I rev it up in neutral and the fuel gage doesn't register at all. I haven't troubleshot these at all yet, do you think it's a dash electrical/solder problem or individual component problem? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks, GeorgeP.

The answer to your question most likely lies in the second sticky thread in the LS400 forum.

Panos, not sure about the "second Sticky thread"...I only see one Sticky thread that deals with a bad instrument cluster, is this what you are referring me to? Thanks, GeorgeP
