This is good advice. It is VERY unusual to find a rebuilt engine that is nearly as well assembled as a factory engine. The 1UZFE is a very close tolerance engine with many critical specifications. This is not your run of the mill rebuilt chevy 350.

Yeah, I understand that. I got the car towed back to my house this weekend and it STILL STARTS! I will take pictures (maybe a movie) today after I get home from school.

This really isn't a good example of how much oil spilled but my camera battery ran out so I couldn't take a picture when there was lots on the ground.

Jasoneo5 12-15-03 08:32 PM

There was little markings of oil where I had driven (it had been spilling while I was moving). What is weird, is that after checking my oil a day ago, I didn't seem to be low.

in my pics you can see where my oil filled engine mounts also sprayed oil on the inside of the engine

Damn guys...that looks ugly. could have been much worse though.

EGainer 12-15-03 11:25 PM

yup, if my interference timing belt had snapped too.... i would have got ANOTHER new top end on my engine (been replaced once)

Jasoneo5 12-16-03 08:16 PM

Yeah, weird thing is, the car will still start :eek1:

Wonder how much it costs to put a new engine in. Is it possible to installe a later model year engine ?
