Hello all,
I am a new LS 400 owner trying to get into the LS world. i just bought a 1993 Lexus LS400, solid white. Tan seats, chrome emblems, phone in center console, all that jazz. I bought it for 850 bucks so i wasnt expecting much of the car to work but surprisingly everything works on the interior except the dash lights. Im just having some mechanical issues.
When i bought it, the previous owner said that it has a vacuum leak. the car runs like its misfiring but i thought maybe it was the intake manifold gaskets so i replaced them. The car doesn't like to turn on when i have the MAF plugged in and when i plug it back in when its already started, as it will just stall out and die. i drove the car 3 hours home and it started to lose power every time i hit a stop sign. i just barely pulled it into a sparking spot. idk if its normal but i filled the tank up and it only lasted me a hundred miles. i dont know if i can add videos but if i can ill add a video of it chopping.

 

Also, how can i check for a CEL if my dash is Inoperable? is it possible to check my ECU for codes? i feel like it might tell me exactly whats wrong with the car but i just cant diag it.
