Stalled and started up no problem.
Hey guys, I’ve just replaced my alternator last week(Friday), been driving the car a lot since then and today(Wednesday) going on a slight uphill the car engine died😳😟. From what I saw in the dash as it happened; check engine light came on along with battery icon. Lights did not dim no other warning on dashboard came on.
After pushing the car to side of the road and putting on park. I tried to start the car and it did so with no problem and no dashboard warning icons or so. So i drove home. Parked it and used my topdon carpal obd2 scanner I bought.
Ive test out the battery with the car OFF and it gave me a 13.5 and after turning ON the car the voltage is at 14.6 so meaning that healthy battery and a charging alternator.
Also ran a diagnostic and no codes turn up besides something related to AC(I’ve read it something to do with the sun or so, it’s unrelated to the issue).
After some searching I found this has something or could have to do with fuel pump resistor? When my alternator failed back on Nov 14 I disconnected the battery completely and the car was left untouched until I fixed it on the 29th, could it be the car need to learn the idle all over?
Also while driving past few days I’ve noticed there’s like a intermittent soft beep sound coming from the front of the dash. It’s faint or so. Then also I noticed when the car is on Drive and at a standstill or braked; the RPM is around 400-500, at one time I noticed it was around 200-300
Anyway I’d like to know how often do these fail? Have you guys encountered this issue before?
What other areas to check?
When the gear is on D, what is the normal idle range while stopped?(mines 500-520)
As for the resistor I bought one from EBay used as I couldn’t find one new since it said discontinued😥😟
