Default Diff part year - 1992 versus 1993, are they the same?

I recently traded for a 1992 LS 400. It has a welded diff, and I need to swap it out. I finally found a part online for the rear diff, and when I received it, it said it was a 1993 diff. Is there any difference between 1992 and 1993? Or am I good to go?

You are good to swap. 90-94 have the same differential mounting points. The only difference is the differential subframe bushings from 90-92 and 93-94.

Thank you. Would you be able to direct me to a source to locate the correct subframe bushings for purchase? I apologize, I am new to this.

You don't need to replace the bushings to make it work, it will bolt up just like the original one. I was just mentioning that difference between the model years.

Sorry, to clarify, the bushings are broken…wondered if you knew of a good source in the US. What I’ve found so far are in the EU and will take a long time to ship.

No, they are discontinued and difficult to find.
You will have better luck overseas. I would try Amayama or Ebay. I do not recommend polyurethane bushings.

The mounting bush is indeed discontinued from new sources.

Your only chance is to go hunting for one from a junkyard or a parts car. Or worst case, a mystery bush from ebay.
