Default how to? - replace brake light bulb? - answered!

i've searched the site with no reward. i need to find out how to replace the brake light bulb for the 3rd brake light for my 97 es300. This would be the brake light that is on the deck of my rear window. Not sure how to access the light so that I can replace the bulb. detailed instruction will help.

thanks in advance for your help.

Not sure about the ES300...but for the GS300....you just slide the entire 3rd brake light unit to the left (about 1/2 inch) and then lift up the unit. Im sure the concept is similar. Try that.

Default Answer to 1997 ES300 model

Thanks PETE for your suggestion -

For the 1997 ES 300, you actually slide the cover straight back. It takes a little effort because of the confined space but very doable by anyone. I love this website!!!

Thanks for the help.

I have a 96 SC300. Does anyone know if it removes the same way? I think it is also the cover for the subwoofer.
