replacing bulbs on 2003 ES300
I have some new HID bulbs for my ES300 the high beam bulbs were easy to replace but I am having a hard time getting the low beam bulb out. There is a rubber gasket around the bulb which makes it very difficult to remove. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks
I am confused.
Did your 03 ES come with HIDs. If so, why are you replacing them so quick?
If it did not come with HIDs, then are you doing a complete HID conversion (bulbs, ballast, relay) for the stock halogens?
what did you replace the 9005 highs with: Silverstars, PIAAS, ????

Sorry for any confusion the car came with the stock halogan bulbs and I am replacing them with aftermarket HID bulbs. I replaced the high beam (9005) with no problem, I am just having a difficult time replacing the H7 the low beams because there is a gasket around the bulb. How do you get that bulb out and replace it with the H7 low beam bulb. Any help would be great. Thanks
What kind of after market HID kit did you use? CATZ? HELLA?..etc
I have changed my 03 ES300's low beam to HID with a little bit of modification to the bottom of new HID bulbs because 02-03 ES300 has extra plastic base to the H7 bulb. However, i have never had a problem with Rubber cover or retaining clip.
Anyway, Before you do your work, make sure that you disconnect the power harness from the bulb. Try to pull hard in order to take out rubber cover. If pulling hard method does not work, use your head and try to take it out side by side. Then, you will be able to see the bulb. After that, everything else should be PLUG&PLAY.
