Just got everything to retrofit 5 series projectors into my 92 ES. I took apart one of the headlights but I'm not sure how to attack the projectors, what exactly should I cut? I removed the lens, looks like the metal tube behind it will need to go, and the cutoffs. Can the rest of the assembly be removed from behind? Pictures and/or a detailed description would be very helpful. Any advice would be appreciated.
My other question was on the wiring, I've got Hella ballasts. There are 3 wires running from the ballast to what I think is the ignitor (attaches to the bulb), and 2 wires coming from the same plug in the ballast, marked positive and negative. I'd assume these are for power and ground, but how do I wire them to my headlights so they turn on and off?
Thanks.

OK, I think I got the projector part figured out, once I get the projectors and assemblies removed from the back piece, I should just have to cut out the cutoffs and grind a tiny bit away where the 3 legs of the BMW projector will sit, then attach it to the back of the tube. The lens should sit in just the right spot.
Still wondering about the wiring if anyone can help there I'd appreciate it.
Mike, sorry to hear about your problems, hope things work out.
There gonna fit, but it's gonna take a little more work than I thought. I'm cutting about 1/4" off the back of the cylinder, and will have to cut out the 4 little bumps inside, but once that's all clear they should fit. I have to get more cutting wheels for the Dremel tomorrow, I'm glad I've got another car to drive.
