Default composite, in philips guide

Looking for light bulbs for my ES300, in the philips guide I found the term "composite" (vs "H/L HID", I think, but not certain).

I am guessing that means HID low beam, standard high beam. Is that correct?

Was there even an option on the ES300? I thought all of these had HID low, standard hi.

Anyone ever hear of this term before?

Anyone know what exactly the factory/dealer options for headlights on the ES300 were?
