Default Drop in HID prices?

Anyone think the price for a 4100K or 5000K HID upgrade will drop in the next few months?

I still feel that $4-500 for a ballast and some lights is pretty pricey.

Seems there's still ton of money to made off these kits, until everyone has one I don't think the cost will go any lower.

Anyone have any input?

well the price of hid dropped quite a bit at the beginning of the yr ever since the introdcution of the "8000k" and the "10000k" type from korea, they now have the highest price tag and the normal 4100k and the 6000k goes back a lot. i don't think they will further drop dramatically for a while. just my take

You can get a complete HID set slightly used for around 250.00 now! That's what I'm doing for a first gen ES300 retrofit. In this case....I get new bulbs!!! Holla

By the way, 4100 is the brightest bulbs you can buy. That's OEM and its your best bet

Do you really want to just drop in bulbs? See intellexual's HIDos and HIDon'ts. Or http://lighting.mbz.org

nop, saw it in person but don't have pics. well it does have a blue/purple tint on the bulbs so it's to make up for that stupidly fake 10000k light temperature. i didn't see them installed, but you can imagine how dim it is. probably need the pessenger to use a flashlight to help lighting up the road

Anything above 6000k will get you pulled over. 6000k is boarderline illegal because of the blue/purple tint but has more white to it than color. Anything above 6000k looks cheap anyway IMHO. Be very very careful about the cheap kits out there, you will be sorry when your lamps stop working one day, or night. I bought my kit from autolamps-online and am very satisfied. Their kits are not cheap but you get what you pay for.
