Default HID conversion system for GS300 in LA

Just came back from spending 9 months in Taiwan and my GS is hurting.

My brother put some HID look lights on my car while I was gone and now my harnesses are melting. Lexus wants $4500 to fix the melts (everything still works since I replaced the bulbs back to stock) and I think that's crazy.

So, I figure it's time to upgrade to HID.

Can anybody recommend a place in Los Angeles that can do this for me?

And an HID system?

I'd like to do it for under $1000 including parts and labor.

Is that possible?

Thanks!

email jason at discountcycle@ureach.com and ask him about hid kits for your gs (9006 type). i got my 6000k from him for 460 shipped, philips bulbs and everything best quality, easy to install. if you get the normal 4100k it should be cheaper

i can install it for you for 500 bucks then, hehehe... just kidding, pm me and i will give you all the details you need. you only need 1 hr to install.

NVMYGS3:

Sorry to hear about your wires.

What bulbs did your brother put in that melted your wires?

Do you know the brand name? How many watts were they? Which ones did he swap out? The headlights (9006)? DRL (9005)?

Just wanna know so I dont do the same for my wires.

Forgot the brand but it's an 85 watter. Make sure you use 55 watts only. Both my harnesses are melted and to replace it, it's gonna cost at least 2 grand from dealer.

Default IS HID dependent on stock socket harness?

Like i said earlier, the bulbs melted one of my socket harnesess (the female where the male 9006 goes onto anc clicks on) completely that one of the 9006 stock bulb doesn't even touch the prongs anymore.

ARRGGHHHH!! I hate this. Anyway, I'm defintely going to take it to Steve's at Carson because he is trustworthy but...

are HID kits dependent upon the stock 9006 socket harness or independent? If i had to fix the harness and then put HID, that woudl reallysuck because to fix it requires my buying the entire lighting harness from Lexus and Lex of Bev Hills wants $4500 YES 4500 to replace it because they have to take the engine out.

WHAT THE FERK!!!!!

Can anybody help me out?

actually what the dealer is charging you 2000 for i can easily do under 20 dollars in parts. all you have to do is cut off the melted connectors and melted wires and i know a place that i can buy new 9006 connectors.

Default Help with locating 9006 female connectors

Help help help!

Can you please help me in locating the female connectors for my melted 9006's? The dealer wants to replace the ENTIRE harness for over a grand. I told them you can just replace the connectors but they say no. I'm prepared to go HID with Steve Ganz but even he too says I may need those female connectors to get the HID to work.

Please help me, I"m running on one light

i can try to search for it and let you know. but one good idea for you, try going out to junk yards, that femail connection is used in A LOT OF cars, and i mean a lot of COMMON cars on the road. you can just cut some off and pay maybe 10 bucks for them

ugh...I don't know how many times I've told people NOT to use overwattage bulbs in their setups! (granted, your brother did it...did you kick his *** for touching your car? )

PEOPLE, DO NOT USE OVERWATTAGE BULBS! 55/65 Watts ONLY!

As for HID, you can also get the same kit I have...the AutoLamps kit (www.autolamps-online.com)...here's a link to the install on a SC...great kit....

Email me for more info on the AutoLamps kit (gs430@mac.com)
