Will a ballast too close to a battery short out or stop working? Where are you guys with the SC's mounting your ballasts?

 

I don't think you have to worry about that since current is only transferred through the battery post. On my brother's 240sx, the ballast is sandwiched between the radiator support and battery. I will be doing a HID retrofit on my SC within the next few months.
