Trying not to sink anymore into this thing after doing all this the past 3-4 months: timing belt ($850 incl. water pump/tensioner/fluids, other belts), flex-pipe with rear cat ($300, good thing knowing someone @ auto parts store
), EGR ($150) & 2 other small electronic gadgets within EGR area for another $200. Going to order black front upper grille tomorrow (thanks eyezack ) and am doing emblems (black) on hood & trunk this week (thanks again Eyezack So I'm doing some reconnaissance on new light bulbs. Thanks

If you can wait a it longer, Philips may be releasing their Xtreme version in 9006. They have ~80% more output than OEM bulbs, while still running on the standard 12v/55w. It's the latest in technology and the difference in output is quite staggering.
EDIT: Looks like the 9006 version is already available: http://www.bulbs.com/eSpec.aspx?ID=1...f2=Light+Bulbs

Thanks for the quick answer. Are these the best shot? Cost is wicked cheap and about the same as standard bulb replacements. Thanks again.

Picked em up at Auto Zone for $48/pair. They have a noticeable cut off point in height and are a tremendous improvement over factory. A nice positive cheap, quick fix vs HID's (lw es300 not cheap, but hesitant over something I can't see except for blurbs here on CL...and reliable vendors seem to be sketchy
).Auto Zone didn't stock the Philips I was looking for (alledgedly $21.99/pair), but who cares for $2-3 more @ AZone they were in 5 minutes later. I guess now I'll see about their lifespan..
