Question No DRL's in the Lamp Right Now

So I ordered new DRL's and they finally came yesterday. Turns out that they dont fit. I ordered 9006 instead of 9005. WHOPS!

Anyways, after finding out they didn't fit, I just completely took out my DRL's and city lights. So right now I driving around with no high beams and city lights. Is this bad???

I like the look better cause I have no ugly yellowish day time lights, and at night I get the pure white from my HID with no city light interference.

I just dont know if this is bad for the car, lights, or anything electrical.

Shouldn't hurt a thing if your socket holes are covered. If they aren't, dirt and moisture are sure to get inside your headlight housing and cloud things up.

As for the 9006/9005 fix, take a small file, or better yet, a dremel tool and grind out that middle plastic piece and the plug should fit with no problem.

Yeah good idea. Thats funny you know what the exact problem is. LOL!

I am looking for a dremel or a small enough file to make things work. I did however cover things up pretty good. I was just hoping things would be safe until I fixed the problem.

Good lookin out!

Thanks but what is this gonna tell me? I have looked at this thread b4 and thats where i got the idea about getting those DRL's.

Problem is I ordered the 9005 BULBS and they sent me the 9006 BULBS. No worries cause I'm gonna Macgyver the 9006's so they fit.

9006 have glare Shields, while 9005's dont. They aren't the same, so If i were you, I'd get the right type of bulb, unless light output is not something your worried about, which i doubt since you went through the trouble of getting new bulbs.
