2000 ls400 hid question

I just bought a 2000 ls400 with 65k miles on it. It has the HID lights. At least the low beam is HID. It comes on like a flourescent bulb and has the auto leveling. The high beam however looks yellow like a normal bulb. The high beam also serves as driving lights. Is this the way it is supposed to be or is the high beam supposed to be blue like the low beam?

Yes thats the way it is. The highbeam uses a regular 9005 bulb.

very few cars have HID high beams since there isnt really much of a point.
