Not hard at all. Just unscrew the protective cap. Pull off the terminal. Unclip the bulb and pull it out. Reinstall in reverse order. However, the hard part will be the drivers side. The battery is in the way so you will either have to unbolt it to move it aside or have some small hands.
Are you asking about the bulbs or the headlamp pieces themselves? Bulbs are relatively easy to change out no matter if you have HID or Halogen. They should be a one step process. If you're speaking on the matter of the headlamps then you will need to release all the bulbs and then find out where the screws/bolts are and release those before pulling them out.

I think maybe missing something - in the engine bay of my LX, it is almost impossible to get to the plug on either of the lamps. I figured you had to take out the whole lens assembly.
Are there any issues with removing the battery? The thing won't lock down on me or anything with the stock security system?
Thanks,

ok, I figured out the protective cap thing - I'm not used to H1 style bulbs.
Have a bit of a problem now though. I installed Sylvania SilverStar H1 bulbs - love the color, but while one of them looks normal, the drivers side beam looks retarded and throws down and off to the left - mainly highlighting the lane markings as I drive.
Ideas? is it possible to put these in upside down? I had the thought of maybe the bulb didn't seat properly, but my flashlight died and I wasn't able to check that - plus, I had no problem getting the retaining spring back into locked position.
Any thoughts are very welcome - even if they're of the "here's what you did wrong, idiot" variety...

I guess it's possible to install them upside down, but you would have a pretty hard time getting that clip back in there. If everything went in smoothly with no excessive force then you probably have it installed correctly. It might be possible that you threw off the aiming(bumped/pushed the projector too hard) when you were installing the bulbs.
There are aiming screws on the headlight housing. Use those to adjust vertical/horizontal aim for the beam output. Changing the vertical level is not too hard, but if you want to change the horizontal aim then you will have to pull out the sidemarker housing.
