Default GS License Plate Bulb

Hey all,

I'm new here and I have a question. It sounds simple enough, but how do I get to and change the license plate bulbs on a 1998 GS300? I don't want to tear away the trunk lid liner if I don't have to, because those things never go back on right once you remove them. Does that lip where the trunk key hole is located come off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paul

You'll have to remove the liner, not not completely. Just the nearest ones to the bulbs, or until you have enough room to get to it. As far as it not going back on right once they're removed, I can say mine is 100% on. You shouldn't have any trouble putting it back on, unless you've taken out your clips so many times.

Thanks a lot GSteg. I'll go ahead and get at it. By the way, your GS is tight! I'll post some pics of mine, soon. Thanks again.

Agree. I have removed mines at least three times in the past and has gone back on with no problems.

Thanks a lot GSteg and E-Diddy. The liner came off and went on with no problems.

On the 01+ GS. There's that trunk release handle...you know the thing you pull so you can escape if anyone ever throws you in the trunk

Anyways, the plastic bracket on that thing is a PAIN to pull off. Just a heads up for anyone with a 01+

You will need 2-3 screwdrivers and wedge them at different angles to pull that piece out. It will feel like you are going to snap it in half, but just keep pulling and it will eventually come off...lol
