My '05 RX330 has OEM HIDs on, which I think are around 4100K or so. Would I be able to switch the bulb out with a replacement one, around 6000K, and would the ballast all work fine?
I'm pretty sure switching the stock HID bulb for a 6000K bulb should yield no problems as long as it's the same type (i.e. D2S). I would not recommend changing the DRL bulb to an HID bulb since the DRL color would remain the same (i.e. DRL power = 50% wattage of high beam). Plus if you were to use the high beams for short periods of time, this would shorten the lifespan of the HID bulbs.
Oh, so DRL and high beams are the same bulb? So the different types of bulbs in there are the highbeam/DRL, parking light , and the HID one? Highbeam/DRL is 9005? What size are the parking lights?
What type of HID is in the RX330, D2S? It would be easy just to remove the OEM HID bulb and put in the new 6000K Philips replacement right?

Your DRL bulbs are different from HID. I believe they are either 9005/9006 ... I think what lexusk8 meant to say is, even if you get a e.g PIAA Extreme White 9006/9005 or MTEC Cosmos Blue 9006/9005 it is not going to produce 100% of it's effectiveness because the DRL only draws 50% but on the other hand you will get a bright and white/Blue High Beam.
Yes the DRL and Your Highbeam is the same bulbs... I think your parking hmm sidemarker bulb should be a size 194..
the hid bulb is d2s coz' the rx330 has projector headlights. it shouldn't be too hard to replace the bulbs, the space might be tight but just be patient. and also look around to know how it works first, coz' more than likely you stick your hands in and you can't see anymore, just feel.
about high beam / DRL, yes they are the same bulb i think. DRL is just high beam at 50% power, so no matter what superwhite you put in there, it still work work (produce white light) for DRL
Oh I understand, I think the highbeam/DRL are 9005. I heard there was a mod to turn 9005s into 9006s because 9006s are brighter?
Xenon Depot has the Philips 6000k for $99 for ONE, but the budyhidkit.com has the Phillips 6000k bulbs for $130 for TWO. Is this too cheap of a deal? Are those the same bulbs?
