HID's at the instant they turn on will have a light flash and will brighten in a few seconds...
its obvious if you have them or not.
If you want bright *** quality lights.....go buy the Sylvania Silverstars....they are great quality, none of those off brand piece of crap lights. They are bright white , look nice, and visually pleasing from the drivers seat.
You can pick them up at Murrys Discount, Autozone...etc....
You can pretty much tell by just looking at them. Also, if you have yellow fogs, you have HIDs. HID headlights come standard with yellow fogs. Non-HID headlights come standard with regular clear fogs. Unless the previous owner switched his clear fogs for yellow ones, I'd say you've got HIDs.
Are the Sylvania Silverstars for the day lights? fog lights? or headlights..
A friend of mine told me PIAA's were bright white too.
They are for the headlights, but not your headlights. You've got the HID, so you're all set.
Silverstar qaulity is highly subjective. Yes they look good, but they are very fragile and tend to burn out quickly. A quick Google search will find many opinions. Personally, I had a set, burned one out after three months, a second two months later, after that I pitched them both and went to PIAA.
(btw no I didn't touch them)
