Default Question about "lights"

I just got a 2001 GS 300. The guy I bought it from said the headlights were HID. How can I tell for sure?

What kind of bulb should I use for the daylights? I want them super white and bright.

I also have stock FOG lights. I want them bright *** white, so do I need to change the casing or just the bulb?

If I want to stay with the yellow FOG, but just super BRIGHT, what bulbs do yall recommend?

Thanks for the help and sorry for the newbie Q's.

Default Lights

HID's at the instant they turn on will have a light flash and will brighten in a few seconds...

its obvious if you have them or not.

If you want bright *** quality lights.....go buy the Sylvania Silverstars....they are great quality, none of those off brand piece of crap lights. They are bright white , look nice, and visually pleasing from the drivers seat.

You can pick them up at Murrys Discount, Autozone...etc....

I do have the HID headlights in that case.

Are the Sylvania Silverstars for the day lights? fog lights? or headlights..

A friend of mine told me PIAA's were bright white too.

You can pretty much tell by just looking at them. Also, if you have yellow fogs, you have HIDs. HID headlights come standard with yellow fogs. Non-HID headlights come standard with regular clear fogs. Unless the previous owner switched his clear fogs for yellow ones, I'd say you've got HIDs.

They are for the headlights, but not your headlights. You've got the HID, so you're all set.

Silverstar qaulity is highly subjective. Yes they look good, but they are very fragile and tend to burn out quickly. A quick Google search will find many opinions. Personally, I had a set, burned one out after three months, a second two months later, after that I pitched them both and went to PIAA.
(btw no I didn't touch them)

Just go with some HID fogs no halogen is gonna beat that brightness

Also, yes putting in a higher output halogen bulb will make the fogs brighter.
