Need help on bulb plug connectors
Okae, I think i posted in a past thread that i needed help on the plug connectors for the xld145 slimballasts to regular d2s plugs. Well i ordered a plug that i thought would work but the male and female connectors are different.
Background Info: Ballast is a two piece ballast with separate ignitor. Bought it off xenondepot.com but these ballasts were meant to be used with rebased bulbs so the ignitor has two wires instead of one. Since my original retrofit used only one wire i was stuck on what to do until i found a plug that was on ebay and it utilized two wires.
My question is can i just cut off the connectors on the plug from ebay and crimp/solder them to the ignitor plugs? I'm mainly concerned about getting the right wires to each other. Female and male connectors are pretty much made for specific type of wire right? The way i'm seeing it is that the female connector or male for that matter can go on any wire... so I want to make sure I get the right ones together.
Thanks,
PS. what is the consequence if i don't get the right wires together?
