Ok...today's calmed down a little bit. Things are always hectic around here with all the work but I'll be able to document. Basically I met with Henry my supplier the day before yesterday and picked up the parts. Mind you the gues I"m doing the retrofit for, met me Friday night and brought me brand spanking new Toyota Supra lamps so clear I'm going to cry ok!!!!!
Anyhow Henry dropped off some Super slim Valeo BAllasts that are soooo cool I"m definately going to grab a set because all the folks talking about I don't know if I have room to mount ballasts, well your excuses are officially Kaput after you see these.
Finally the moment of truth, I picked up the Special DOT shields from Henry as well used to create the Hybrid projector which consists of the
Valeo Brand Audi A4 Euro Edition (ECE) model xenon projectors
Valeo Brand Audi A4 US Edition (DOT) model xenon projector shields
and I was just told that all of these items are in scarcity now because of the hot demand. In fact I had to sell Brian (my guest) my own set of ECEs (I was going to use for my next retrofit) so we can make the deadline.
Anyhow that's the mini story behind all this and I'm definately sure there will be more. Look for that and more pics when I can process them off my cell phone cam and continually check back for updates!!
Thanks for the support. I means alot
Mike

Hey Rich. I'll get that info to you. You'll love these and I'll post a pic when I find it in my email I sent to Brian.
Here's a few shots from earlier. I've moved further along since then though. Right now I'm creating a new way to mount the projectors into this setup that serves good form and function which is what Toyota is known for. Look for that later. In fact this is exaclty how my old ES300 retrofit was and boy I remember those days. Definately a little higher on the challenge side but I know I can do it. Just takes a little more preperation but this'll come out well in the next day or so.
Anyhow enough about me....here's the pics
Never forget to remove tabs before you place the lamps in the oven!!!!!!
Pending Brian's approval, I may paint the Supra trims flat black vs the glossy black to reduce glare
Awe Lenses to die for lol!!!!
More later

Here's a few more pics....and a short story
pics 1st
my hand's unintentionally covering the bottom part in this pic below
I'm holding both left and right projector cylinder assemblies off the SUpra in my left hand for illustration...
Now here's the short story. Last night I went out to test the Valeo Hybrids after I assembled them. Needless to say I'm both bitter sweet. MAd that I sold my last set but happy that someone else is gonna benefit from such awesome projectors.
I have a few shots but like I said my camera sucks. I'm gonna get the Sony on Sat. so at least I'll be able to show nice color shots when I hand these over to their rightful owner. All you TSX and S2000 guys watch out because there's a new kid in town and his name is Hybrid!!!!!
ANyhow the short story goes something like this, I spoke with the owner of the project I'm working on last night and he was concerned about cutting/modification of his lamps and was wondering if/why it had to be done. I explained to him that its a requirement and that I'm going to make it OEM stealth so that the only difference is gonna appear when he actually turns on his headlight to reveal his new HIDs to other Supra owners alike. Although he was still concerned, he explained that he's trusting in my judgement and has a good feeling its going to come out well. I also explained to him that this is the exact same lamp as the first gen ES300 (which he read about in my old thread a couple years ago)which was a pain in the **** to work on. I had to go as gentle as possible without breaking anything but there are times when brute strength is required to seperate certain pieces. (see links below)
Long story short its coming along nicely and I'm about 60-65% done at this point well on schedule for a Sat. afternoon/early evening finish time. Here's a link to give you guys a good idea as to what I'm kinda doing. I'll reveal the acutal detail later on when I finish but it should give u a good idea.

Lookin the goods... so does that magazine
It looks like so much work to get a retrofit done Plus I've never seen anyone in Australia actually do a proper retrofit too which really sucks as I'm not made to use a Dremel .
