Default GS400 HID vs. Non-HID pictures!

Does anyone have pictures of '98+ GS400 HID vs. Non-HID lights? I thought I had HID's on my 2000, but the parts counter at the dealer ran my VIN and said that I did not. I have the self leveling motors in the lights so I presumed these where HID.

If you have the self-leveling motors then they are difinitely HID's. How do you know for sure you have the self levelling motors?

One way to check it is to turn on the lights with a wall in front of you and watch the beam pattern. It should go up and then down. Assuming you are sitting in the car and looking at the beam pattern relfecting on the wall in front of you.

The difference between HID's and non HID's is like the difference between night and day.

Here is a pic of my car with the HID's on. (by the way, I upgraded my fogs to HID's, that's why they look similar to the main headlights).

Thanks for the clarification, as I knew I had HID's until the dealership said otherwise. It's amazing that Lexus allows these type of people to represent their product. How do you change to HID in the fogs?

I bought the HID kit a while back and the dealer installed it for me. It is not a simple install for a non DIY person like me.

The kit comes with ballasts and relays. I got the 6000K bulbs. Not sure where to get one these days. I know one of the sponsors here XenonDepot sells HID kits, not sure if they carry one for the GS fogs though. Try sending them a PM if you are interested in getting one.

Here's a group buy they set up recently for HID kits:
