Default 97 style wing needs brake light wiring?

my bodyshop painted an installed what i thought to be an oem 97' type spoiler on my 92sc3, however they said i need some type of relay for the brake light to work?? The way it was said sounded like they didn't even try to hook it up since they really hooked me up on some touch up work.. The wires were present without any type of relay.
Can i just try running the wires from the back deck brake light directly into the wires existing for the spoiler??
Also, can i remove the rear deck light entirely obviously after the spoiler light works and use this area for a subwoofer port?

You COULD wire up the third brake light into the led tail wing. But you would need to run a fuse at least. Otherwise, I don't see why not.

Excuse my ignorance... but where would the fuse go?? Inline with the wires?
