Can anyone tell me how to change the low beam and fog lamps in a 2000 ES300, I picked up some Silverstars and wanted to change them, the high beams were pretty straight forward.
As for changing the low beams, it's pretty much the same concept as changing the fogs (utilizing the clip-and-hook mechanism built into the bulb holder behind each headlamp, kinda tricky the first time around), and you'll have more convenience instead of going from under the bumper for the fogs. Make sure you wear rubber gloves when handling the bulbs as any oil or grease on the bulbs will cause them to burn out during use. Let me know if you got any further questions.
Hey thanks lexusk8, that thread looks like just what I need to get started. I did do a search but just didn't find what I needed.
I wasn't sure about the splash quard beneath the fogs or the rubber boot behind the lows although in pulling back the boot I could see the retaining clip, I gather that has to come off or move to change out the lows?

Yes there is a retaining clip, which is a part of the headlight assy and cannot be removed. The clip hooks onto the metal adapter piece, located on the base of the bulb at the ear-shaped notch. You might need to remove the adapter from the stock bulb (just pull apart), and transfer that to the new bulb so it can fit properly to the headlight assy. This is what I had to do when I upgraded to PIAA Xtreme White lows in my '01.
steviej has experience in changing out the fogs (H3-type) in his '02 ES, and he's also from MA. I'm sure he'll chime in soon.
I was thinking it couldn't be as easy as I thought!
Thanks again for your second, brief explanation, I'll have to take a closer look at it tonight when I go home, it's actually my wife's car and I just thought I'd upgrade the lighting for her. I read steviej's post as part of that thread you directed me to, thanks again and yeah, maybe he'll chime in.
