Hey Bro, that's exactly what my situation was. I had the stock 4100K HID's in my GS400, and I upgraded them to 6000K Philips HID's - awesome mod that I would do again in a heartbeat.

Just contact jus4bulbs@yahoo.com and he can get these for you very fast. I bought mine from him and got them in 3 days or so.

There is a group buy for the Phillips kits and the prices are good too. Here's the link. I'm going to be ordering one for my '00 RX300 soon.

you know... 8000k doesn't mean brighter, it's actually dimmer than 6000k and 4000k

neilz it actually isn't brighter. with the 8000k bulbs you see blue or purple light everywhere correct? just because you can see the light everywhere doesn't mean it is light you can use. the color stands out more than yellow so it seems like you can see more because you see your beam color everywhere.

I had some Phillips 6000K D2R on my IS 300 before I wrecked it and let me tell you the color was the key diffrence, anything higher than 6000k is a waste IMHO.

they probably had longer distance because your hids were aimed higher.. that's why the beam pattern is longer. like i said before it's the amount of light that you can use not the amount of light you see (blue or purple). The Phillips 6000K are very nice and are a lot brighter than 8000K's. My friends have all different kinds of hids on their cars ranging from hanabi to catz to phillips to raybrig. 6000k looks the nicest imo. you will see that a lot of other members on the forum agree with me but everyone is allowed to have their own taste. If you like your 8000K then more power to you.
