Prospective LFA Buyer - New Here
Hi Everyone,
I'm Aron - based in Orange County, CA.
I'd love to talk to a few LFA owners to gauge your experience with the car. I've been following the LFA from well before it was produced,
and really am serious about buying.
Are there any owners in So Cal?
And, do you know of any owners (nationwide) that would entertain selling?
Do you feel now is a good time to buy or do you feel prices will drop further?
I have a decent budget but would like to learn a bit more and talk to a few owners.
ANY help is appreciated.
Reply here or email me: info@napkin.com
Thanks everyone!
Just a little about me: entrepreneur and I do a bit of venture investing.
I own a mint low mile Supra Turbo and would love to put an LFA next to it.

Welcome! Hope you get to meet with an LFA owner from this board. There are quite a few of them that check out this forum and hopefully someone will help you with the decision.

Aron,
If you fish around these threads, you will find a bunch of owners.
Perhaps if you send a few PMs, these nice folks will cover what you would like to know.
I had an allocation and bailed out due to the amount of noise it makes.
I have both driven it and been taken out on the track and they are a ton of fun.
More focused on the visceral driving experience than absolute speed.
Interior details and quality are terrific.
I believe one of the hidden design elements is they built the car to be pretty much unbreakable.

I've PM'ed a few, and hopefully some will give me a bit of time to ask some questions.
I'd also like to find an LFA from an owner - one that's not for sale at a dealership.

Counter point,
at this point almost all of the registered cars will be out of their base warranty.
you can grab an unregistered car from an actual Lexus dealer and have a full warranty.
i know you are into due diligence professionally so just have the car checked out, dealer or not. One guy bought a car that was stored in a warehouse for some of the time and a critter have feasted on some plastic parts and the wiring harness.

And to distract you, if you have slightest interest in a new NSX, folks are getting as much as $50K off brand new ones, based on a $30K give back from Honda to the dealers.
Not every dealer is participating (offer based on NSX sales to date at the store and number in inventory)
One guy got a car with only a few options for $122K

I had considered that as well. A lot of car for the money. But, I prefer the previous generation max, having owned a couple myself. Good idea though. Very fair prices now with the dealer incentives.

By the way:
A quick walk around of my 1994 Supra.

I'd love to have an LFA as well. Both represent Toyotas effort to over-engineer a car!

If you are ok with paying a little bit more and value the warranty, then you should buy new. Here is list of new unregister LFA and its pretty accurate. Don't even bother calling for the Nurburging ediition lol.

Yes, I would think all of the new one's with less than a 1000 miles are selling for MSRP or a bit higher. If there is an LFA with a few thousand miles available, I think it will go for around $320 - $340K as crazympg indicated.
