Good stuff.

Edit: it would have been better if we can watch the original video with full sound.

Finally some proof of the track prowess. Who conducted the test. Any details on it??

That is most likely on the standard non super-slick RE70 Potenza tires. I hope there will be a good quality video of this.

Yes that's right, RE070 are not "super slicks". They are extreme performance tyres, not street legal race tyres (like Pilot Cups or RE55s for example.... which aren't "super slick" either.. this isn't gran turismo). They are also the standard tyres on the Nurburgring package and AFAIK, the only tyre available for it.

Wow good stuff! Too bad the video quality is so poor. Wonder if the original video shown inside is available somewhere so we don't have to "watch while we watch".

Wait a second, where does it indicate that this was a Nurburgring Edition car?

It's in the video description.

It doesn't, but as the youtube video shows, the hot lap video was on display next to a Nürburgring Edition.

I'll try to get a statement from Lexus USA.

Yes it is in the Japanese part and there's also a rough English translation underneath the Japanese description, where it says:

The vehicle is Akira Iida that Lexus LFA "Nurburgring Package".

Cool, I did not see the translation until you pointed it out.

Akira Iida was the driver alright. Does anyone know what publication was this test conducted for???

What is great about it is that it is completely independently tested and not by Lexus. Usually there is a huge disparity between the factory driver run lap and independently tested lap. I could imagine with a factory tester LFA Nurburgring edition can easily be in the 7:18 - 7:19 region.

It's on display at the ADAC 24hrs. Akira Iida, is quite capable.

Despite all of that extra downforce, LFA Nurburgring edition also hit 293 KM/H on the last straight. That is a huge 13 km/h faster than what Sport Auto got for a standard LFA on the last straight. I am sure SportAuto did not push the standard LFA to the absolute max.

That accounts for some of the quicker lap time where it covered the last straight much faster.

It looks like a Lexus factory test...

More hp and better aero can easily account for much of that difference. Of course, Akira Iida undoubtedly knows the LFA much better than Horst von Saurma.
