Not planning on doing a vanity plate. There were 82 miles at delivery, with 79 certified from the factory from Japan testing and the remaining miles coming from a US-based tech inspection plus the random repositioning such as my request to the dealer to put my LFA on their lift so I could see the underbody of the car (pics later when I have time). The Japan testing varies widely from car to car (#57 only had 37 miles or something on it, and I think an earlier model had 100+ miles) and I'm not exactly sure why the discrepancy is so large. Of course, since the rev limiter doesn't lift until something like 320ish miles, it's not like I would have minded mine being delivered with 300 miles on it or something. :P

Lexus Central gave me several copies of the sticker, including one printed on high-quality picture stock and framed (again, pic later). Nice touch.

i have seen lexus arriving at dealership (literally just off the truck) with more than 100 miles already. it's indeed funny how it's done

There is also now a White LFA that recently showed up in Florida, Jm lexus..

These LFA's are hitting showroom floors and we don't even know there Badge Numbers... LoL

I got about 3-4 LFA's that we can't verify either where they went or what badge number it carries....

Looks like you're on top of it when you compare it to Toyota's sales reports. I don't think you missed any cars. That black may have come to Lexus of Bellevue as a dealer-owned car. We know he was getting a black car, and he told a friend it would arrive in February. There was a rumor they were getting a gray or silver, also dealer owned, but they could be mistaken.

One more thing. If a car is spotted with dealer plates, it would be good if it was noted somewhere.

(one came in Feb = MIA, the other just showed up at JM Lexus in Florida)
Most recently this Red one from SoCal.. no badge number yet..

And that Black #009 from early on, that we dont know where it went.

It's cosidered SOLD to Lexus USA, even if it sits on display in his own showroom..

To my understanding, it can not show in dealer inventory.
Therefore it would have to be sold & properly registered with DMV.

list updated.

yes, if the owners buy the car, it's sold and not with dealer plate. i consider those cars sold. but if it's with dealer plate or if it's on the show floor with window sticker and shows up on inventory, now that's something interesting

wait, did i hear the VP says "the car is ready for immediate delivery"? and "the car probably won't stay for long"?

but seems like it has a license plate already. i don't know how dealer plate is like in FL? interesting they have a license plate that fast (unless dealer plate). here in ca you probably roll with no plate for about a month

Confirming that the starfire unit at JM is for sale.

The internet person sent me the window sticker.

More trivia

Gas Guzzler $3700, boo.

Delivery was only $2400 for all that amazing transit.

The car has winglets and headlamp washers and came in at $381,400.

I think the chassis is 035 and have asked for confirmation.

3700 is pretty good for gas guzzler considering the car is 10/16.

I read on another forum that the buyer backed out of the sale. That's an expensive $60k for nothing.

I am only mentioning it as during development I thought I read that the expectation was to avoid the guzzler thing.

I can't get over the cheap transportation.

Those movie stars that de-van the cars must be expensive (can't you see those guys in a Bond film) and then there is the 18 wheeler service in this case from CA to FL.

What do you mean nothing, if he put up the $60K, he definitely got the glass sculpture.

Every state has different rules regarding dealer plates. As an example, collectors in Washington State are require to be licensed as dealers if they turn more than five cars a year even if they want to keep the car, but the rules are more complicated when a collector with dealer plates wants to keep a car. Often they are subject to audit as to some it's a way of avoiding sales tax. Dealer plates on an LFA would be some indicator, (not perfect) in determining the strength of demand.

This is similar to the recent Lamborghini pronouncement that all LP700s are sold out for the next year. The truth is that dealers just took their allocation with hopes to sell the cars. They are not sold out to end customers, not even close.
