i'm betting on an IS hardtop coupe.
they never denied they were considering to make one.
they need something more mainstream and affordable in this economy. and the SC was expensive and sold like turd. So i doubt the SC will be making a return any time soon.

Yeah you forgot the part where the SC is
1. A limited production car
2. Sold over 3k units before it was even sold in dealerships as people put deposits down
3. Sold well until the last 3 or so years
The SC will be with Lexus forever.
Lexus is very aware the SC has opportunities and as I reported they are not sure to turn it to true GT or to a sports car.

I'm 100% sure that an IS coupe would NOT be on the LFA platform. It'll probably be on the more mainstream IS/GS platform...
SC is the only vehicle I imagine that could be on the LFA platform. It'll pretty much be a more affordable alternative to the LFA, in the sub-$100K price segment.

Yes, there was a one year waiting list when it launched, and the SC430 sold 14,000 units a year in both the first 2 years in the U.S. alone, 12,000 units the third year , and about 10,000 units the 4th year, it's sales dropped off in the later years just because they never bother to upgrade the car with anything new ...

Here is a link to a video of an old mule at the ring. Note the upper side intakes do not have the wave shape of the real car. It also has a larger front bumper
This mule has the same front overhang as the LFA prototypes using the same body did.
This cannot be simply an older LFA prototype out on the streets. The front intakes seem slightly different, and the headlights are different than previous LFA prototypes. Look closely at the headlights, they are a totally different arrangement than any previous LFA prototypes.
Also of note is the rear end, especially the area around the tails. There is a lot of tape there, also if you look closely there don't seem to be any rear radiators or radiator fans. To me it looks like the radiator is in the front. Also the rear diffuser/underfloor and area around the exhaust seems different than previous LFA prototypes.
My guess is that this is an engineering mule (hence the cut-up and taped up body) for:
