I am assuming he thought it meant "wet sump" and maybe switches off the "dry sump" but no car does that. Its either a wet system or a dry one.

Also the stitching may look off b/c of the angle.

Dry sump explained here

For the love of god. I checked the specs from the 997 Turbo to the LF-A. Its quicker by like 0.5 seconds. Has less hp and more torque. What was Lexus thinking? I think the weight almost the same. Thing is the LF-A faster by like 5 mph :/

If it was all about price/performance everyone would buy EVOs. Then GT-Rs and 911 Turbos.

We also wouldn't buy luxury cars, we would all drive loaded Malibus, Accords and GEnesis's.

Doesn't work that way.

And having checked specs for the 997 Turbo, the 2009 0-60 is listed at 3.8 secs, which is slower than the LFA's official time; moreover other mags have estimated a faster 0-60 time for the LFA than official.

Anyhow, as stated, it's more than the times.

Yeah I get now that this is the dry sump reservoir.

I'm still vowed how compact this engine looks, almost like a pushrod, lol. I guess thats what happens when you compare 72 degree V10 with no oil pan to a 90 degree V8.

Well, looks like we have another year+ to wait to find out how the production LFA will perform in tests on the tracks

^^^ Yeah it just hit me 18 months? Though if the market/financial picture improves, it makes more sense.
Also maybe it lessens the time gap between it and the next Lexus "F" or sports coupe?

Although the car is extravagantly expensive, Lexus says it will lose money on every one. We believe it. The last car that incorporated a similar level of technology, performance, and exclusivity was the $650,000 Ferrari Enzo. At $350,000, the LFA begins to look like something of a bargain.

Good points. There probably won't be a lot of change between now and then, production-wise...the test drives embargoed for release today are opinions of the final version (largely).

Hopefully that tidbit about Lexus CFRP and 'future applications' refers to more F cars!

According to articles, Toyota actually "hand-picked buyers for maximum exposure", hmmm, looks like they don't care about selling the 500 units to "regular(though rich)" folks ...

Say what you will friend... Denial is not a river. We shall see what the "actual buyers" in this market/price point say.

I will be sure to post up some replies/opinions from various car enthusiast sites. After all.... We do value opinions that's why we're here on the net.
