Was going to post this. This looks like the LFA Roy Mallady used to own. #003 that was famously featured in the C&D VIR lap as well as many other videos where Roy Mallady proudly showed off his LFA. He also owned the #499 LFA. He ended up selling both and then the #003 went to Poland and then Austria. Then, it was in UAE for a while and looks like it ended back in Atlanta. This crash also happened in Atlanta.
It would be strange to re-import but it would be a good story
I don't quite understand the play
At the end of the day unless the car goes back to Lexus, the guy is likely to end up with diminished value and maybe a Frankenstein if they can't get him a full set of factory parts
If it costs $500K to put humpty dumpty back together, it seem like he would be better off taking the insurance money and buying one at auction (seems like that has become the avenue for transactions for these cars)
With the economic cooling of late, price is down some for the non ring cars
I haven't been on here for a long while. Sadly, I recently saw this and this was my old LFA if the pics are all accurate. There is a pic of the door jamb that shows the VIN of 191 which makes it LFA 193 which is my old car. I purchased the car in 2014 with a few miles on it from Lexus of Grapevine and I sold it a couple of years ago after having put over 8000 miles on it. The car went to Atlanta to the next owner. Kindof like losing an old friend when I saw pics of the car. I still have the crystal sculpture that came with the car and the base with #193 on it.
