FS: '97 5Spd AC Sc300 Blk/Blk Hardtop - Omaha, NE
Alright folks,
Looks like it's time to buckle up and be practical for a few years, so I'm gonna sell my baby.. It's not in perfect condition, but it most certainly is a pretty rare beast. It took me 10-11 months to find exactly what I wanted and I flew out to LA, bought it and drove it back here to NE. If you feel the asking price is too high, well, you don't have to buy it. If you absolutely need to say something about it, feel free to PM me. Here goes:
'97 Lexus SC300, original black 5spd hardtop, 102,xxx miles, Clean title
$13,500 - Pretty firm, but willing to work with you
Exterior:
-Full A/C bodykit
-A/C 20x8.5/9.5 (+38mm) wheels
-Bridgestone Potenza RE960A/S tires, <1,000 miles front/ <500 miles rear
-Shaved antenna, front emblem, rear all except 'L'
-Apexi World Series (World Sport maybe?) 2 exhaust, NOT obnoxiously loud
-Headlights NEW last year, retrofitted with E39 Projectors
-Zeal Function B6 coilovers
-ALL windows tinted, not sure of %. (Windshield not tinted very much, does NOT hinder night visibility, but it's enough to be VERY nice on a sunny day)
-Garage kept since I've owned it
Interior:
-Interior has been 98% REPLACED with black pieces
-Leatherseats.com black leather with black suede inserts
-Black suede headliner, rear deck
-Front speakers replaced with MB Quart Premium 6.5"s (X-overs mounted in trunk)
-Factory 12 CD changer still works just fine
-IS300 Steering wheel/Airbag
-TRD Shift ****
-LED Interior lighting
-NO burnt needles, all original, all working
-Door panels NOT sagging
Performance:
(Not much to mention here)
-Koyo Supra Turbo radiator
-Only Amsoil 5w/30 run since I bought the car at 72k miles
-NO smoke, clean oil, clean coolant, runs *VERY* smoothly
-EBC Green Stuff Brake pads
And, of course, the bad:
-Needs T-belt/Water pump job done (Not broken, but past 90k maint. interval) NEW from Toyota T-belt/Water pump included
-Needs clutch job done (Have brand new in box Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch/PP, New Toyota Throwout/Pilot bearings, and, if Vivid Racing ever friggin mails it to me, a 12lb flywheel as well)
-A/C Compressor has 4 bearings inside, one is fried; compressor will need to be replaced. It makes the compressor whine with engine RPMs. Still works, but not sure for how much longer.
-Plastic piece on the back of the front seats is dyed, not real black (But you can't tell... Thus I've not worried about it)
-Plastic surround on front seats is dyed, has scuffs sufficient enough to see the tan showing through, but I'm including (also brand new from dealership) black surrounds
-Both passenger side wheels have been bent, but reworked and refinished. They both balance out just fine, and match perfectly, but I'm trying to disclose as much as I can possibly think of
Stuff that you would be getting with the car:
*Note, if it can be, it's a NEW part ordered from Pembroke Pines Lexus*
-Timing belt/Water pump
-NEW Centerforce Dual Friction clutch/Pressure Plate
-Working with Vivid Racing on this, but I ordered the 12lb Aluminum flywheel from them, they still have not sent it (ordered 3 months ago.) If I get it, you get it with the car.
-Release bearing (Throwout)/ Pilot bearing
-Black seat surrounds
-'97 Foglight housings (Ones on the car are yellowing slightly)
-Carbing Strut Tower Brace (Never installed)
Pictures:
More to come, but these are the ones that I've posted before..

Of course, feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.. That's all I can think of now - I'll edit the post if I think of anything later.
Have a great one, and thanks for the interest!
~Joe
EDIT: And since I KNOW it will be asked, reason for selling is due to a divorce. My wife left me with a broke-as-**** Honda Prelude that we were pretty upside down on, so I was pretty much forced to trade it in. Got an '08 Mazda6, and I'm getting out of the Air Force next year and going to school, so it would be a poor decision to be making two car payments and be unemployed *Doh!* So I'll be practical through school, and hopefully re-acqure another SC on the other side.

atxishome- Very clean car from the link. Few questions... Did the car originally have cloth interior? Any interior pics? Is this factory 5 speed or convert? Clean title? Do you have a carfax or vin# report that you could post?

SC FAN - Thanks for the compliment! Here are some answers for you:
-Nope, car was originally tan leather
-I do not have any interior pics as of now - I'll take some here shortly and post them up here
-It's a factory 5 spd, one of the 120 original ones
-Yes, clean title
-I do not have a current carfax for it, no. If anyone is seriously interested, I will definitely acquire one though.
The car has never been in an accident, but HAS had bodywork done to it. The previous owner had the body kit mounted and painted (obviously) and I have had the passenger door repainted due to a shopping cart incident in a WalMart parking lot (if you search on here for threads started by me, I'm sure you can find pictures) and I have also had the front AC bumper repainted and reinforced because it had a crack in it when I purchased the vehicle.
Any other questions feel free to ask!
Thanks y'all,
~Joe
EDIT: VIN# is JT8CD32Z7V1000088 in case anyone wants to know.

I think right now is just a really hard time to sell, last year i sold my 95 sc300 with a bone stock 1jz in it for 8500 in less then a day of being posted.. Right now i'm seeing all kinds of crazy car deals online and nobody is even jumping on them, nobody seems to be buying cars, i guess thats why they have the cash for clunkers program now to try to encourage people to buy right now..
sucks but i guess we get to keep our SC's a little longer..

I'll definitely get some of the headliner when I do interior pics. It's been rainy and gross here, so the Lexus has been hibernating in the garage lol.
Yup, the hardtops have more headroom!
UpInTheLex - PS, nice collection of cars you've got there!
