Default I know this is a rumor but... GS-F....

I have it on a good source that lexus is almost certainly going to produce the GS-F. They are looking to release it a little after the 4 generation GS is officially sold and it will be based on the new GS too. I know there are a few threads on this already ,but my source has yet to let me down!

V-10, or Turbo V8? Because unless it is pretty light, 420hp is not gonna cut it....

In fact.... the IS-F V8 in a GS would be fairly redundant seeing that the GS460 ought to have 380hp and the IS-F already weighs about the same as a GS.

The LF-A V10 engine family perhaps?

Yeah it makes sense to have the GS-F come with the 4GS, I wonder when that car will premiere...next year earliest?

I didn't have much time to talk, but I intend on picking his/her brain next time we can speak.

If I was a betting man, I would say they may go with a combination V8 with hybrid system like the LS600h and essentially adding some horses that way or use the engine from the LF-A. I will have to ask abut engines next time we talk.

I was under the impression that the new GS will be released late 2011??? But I have nothing substantial on that either.

I think making the GS-F a hybrid is a HUGE no-no, it has to be a V10 for me ...

here here!!

Put the LF-A engine to use, they must be able to find something to do with it other than to sell it to Lotus.

Thanks for sharing the news. It's definitely great news. The GS F would definitely compete directly with the BMW M5. This I would like to see...

Very true Gojirra. I was told it could be around the $100K mark or about the same as a fully stocked LS460 over here.

Interesting, the first GS went from 1991-1996, the second was longer, from 1997-2005, and now the third is 2006-

The 8 years for the second GS does seem too long, and with Lexus' international expansion the importance of this midsize sedan is more than ever, they can't afford to have it without a major redesign for that long.

The pressure is certainly on, with the 3GS there have been more variants than any other Lexus model, with GS 300/350/430/450h/460 not to mention the AWD variants; adding the -F model will make it even more varied. However the sales have not matched those of the ES, which has a single model. But if they can pull off and LS-type effort it may make the 4GS all the more worthwhile...although expectations are high.
