Hello Everyone! Long time reader of the board, but first post. Thanks to everyone here for all the great information. This site has been invaluable in my decision making. I pick up my new ES350 tomorrow morning!
Lex13, Didn't order it actually -- It was in stock at Lexus of New Orleans. Thought about UL, but that would have been a bit of a wait. They had 3 coming in about a month, but not the color I wanted. They advised a 4 month wait if I special-ordered.
Damn dude! Nawluns, LA not that other LA out west. When I saw your location, I made the mistake of thinking CA not LA. I don't know how I could have made such an error seeing that I grew up a few mile upriver in Natchez. Anyway, I hope your new car exceeds your expectations and that it is absent from all of the issues that have been talked about on this forum.
Hoping for the best as well. Asked about the tranny issue and my salesmen advised they had two reports early on -- both cars replaced by dealer, but nothing recent. Did notice the chrome trim on the driver side doors was slightly off -- never would have noticed if others here had not reported it. Will have it adjusted at 5k service, as I'm too anxious to even let them detail the car. :-D All else looks great!
wow...must be exciting waiting for the pickup of your new car. Kinda like starving for 2 days and then arriving at your local restaurant waiting for the prime ribs....

Definitely! Finding it very hard to get some sleep tonight. I've had a string of Hondas and one loved but troublesome Mercedes, but it's been a long time since I was this excited about getting a new car.
On a side note, I have to say that the dealer experience at MB doesn't hold a candle to Lexus.
This is my first post - but I've been reading the forum for a few weeks. I finally got my ES350 yesterday, exactly one month after placing my order. It's freezing here so I didn't get to spend much time in the car since I didn't get it home until later in the evening - but today's another day!! I did figure out how to make a phone call using the bluetooth and maybe today I'll figure out how to begin to use the nav and get somewhere.

Way to go! And the odds are significantly high that the car will be like the majority that have been sold - problem free.
I have been reading a bunch, posted for the first time last night. I have dibs on a Ruby Red UL with Cashmere interior (produced sometime in October) that should be delivered to the dealer the week between Chrstmas and New Year. It will be my wife's car.
I sure hope I have one of the trouble free cars. We looked at G35's, TL's, CTX's and a few others, and my wife didn't like any of the cars as much as the ES 350.
